Volunteers are invaluable to us, mainly in the Philippines where we have projects and programs. Current Vacancies IT Technicians and programmers
We have over 260 CPU units that are in need of refurbishment and we need technicians to teach the adults and out of school youth how to build and clean computers.
We also have one internet café and a second under construction, and need help with networking and programming.
We also need programmers and coders to create databases and networked applications that us to better manage what we do. Builders and Carpenters Large Construction Project
The Philippine Government has given us 1,500 sq/m of land to build a school which will educate every child that is working on the largest dump site in the Philippines - right up to College level. The construction will be made from, 106 x 40ft out of service shipping containers to create four story building, and we are told that it will be the largest construction of connected container vans in the world. We need carpenters, electricians, plumbers, plasterers and labourers to work on site for us. Small construction projects
In Manila we have funds to extend our school building which is located in a cemetery, we need builder and carpenters and electricians to help. Each of the squatter areas does not have any sanitation or wash areas, people dispose of their human waste by wrapping it in a plastic bag and putting it in the sea or taking it to the dump site. People wash themselves partially clothed in cold water from a bucket or pail outside of the shanty in full view of everyone. We have the funds to build shower and toilet blocks on two dump sites and one cemetery. We need labourers and plumbers. We are moving our small office in Manila to a bigger premises, the office is being rented to us very cheaply but is need of refurbishment. In Monumento we have rented a large space for our internet café computer workshop, we need plasterers for the walls and electrican and carpenters. Social Workers We have vacancies for volunteers to work with our Welfare and Community Services Department to assist with baseline surveys and research so that we can continue to assess and monitor the needs and our progress with in the community. We also need committed volunteers who would be willing to donate a few hours a week to befriend some families and form long lasting relationships with them. Teachers Volunteer teachers who are willing to be part of rota and teach arts and crafts to the children in our schools and also teachers who are willing to be included in a monthly schedule to teach different handicrafts to the parents.
