We will continue to respond to community disasters; by providing relief aid such as meals and shelter, supporting families during the death of a loved one or the provision of repairs to destroyed shanties.
The Philippines is one of the most exposed countries in the world and regularly gets hit by tropical storms. The majority of our beneficiaries live in makeshift shanties made from old, salvaged wood and during the typhoon season their homes are at risk from flooding and severe winds. They are unable to afford the cost of the repairs and often lose all their possessions.
Fire is also a very real hazard for the shanty communities as they spread so quickly, and hundreds of families lose everything they own. Families also have medical emergencies that need immediate action and we have set up a Emergency and Disaster Fund where donations are kept and used when emergences and disasters happen.
Donating to this fund can truly save lives; food, water, and shelter are the most the urgent needs and your donation would be used to provide these vital items. Donations would also be used to replace lost clothing, shoes, school uniforms, household items, such as cooking stoves, and emergency medical supplies and treatment. Responding immediately is vital and having available funds to do this will save lives an ease suffering.
We truly appreciate our supporters, without YOU we cannot help our incredible beneficiaries.
We are happy to provide reports detailing how your donations are spent.
